MEDIA USAGE POLICY
So you're a media outlet, publication, or organization and you want to run some DiscoApe photos? Cool. Let's talk.
DiscoApe Creative is an independent sports media outlet based in St. Louis, Missouri. All content — photos, graphics, written material — is protected under U.S. copyright law (Title 17, United States Code).
THE RULES FOR MEDIA & PUBLICATIONS
You must get permission before you publish. Not after. Before. Send your request to dan@discoape.com and I'll get back to you fast. I've never been hard to work with.
If approved, here's what's required:
Credit every image: Photo: DiscoApe Creative — discoape.com
Credit must appear adjacent to the image or in article credits — not buried in the fine print nobody reads
Do not alter, filter, or crop images to remove branding or watermarks
Do not composite, overlay, or digitally manipulate images beyond standard formatting for your publication layout
SOCIAL MEDIA USE BY TEAMS & ORGANIZATIONS
Teams, leagues, schools, and athletic organizations may share DiscoApe Creative content on their official social media accounts with proper credit and tagging (@discoapecreative).
This does NOT extend to:
Paid, boosted, or sponsored posts
Advertising or promotional campaigns
Monetized content of any kind
Those require written permission. Just ask.
WHAT'S NOT ALLOWED — PERIOD
Selling, licensing, or redistributing any DiscoApe Creative content
Using images for AI training, NFTs, or whatever dystopian nonsense comes next
Claiming ownership or authorship of any DiscoApe Creative work
Using images to mock, harass, or misrepresent any athlete, coach, official, or participant. This will NOT be tolerated in any manner.
ENFORCEMENT
Unauthorized use may result in a formal takedown request, an invoice for licensing fees, or legal action under Title 17 of the United States Code. I'd rather just talk it out — but I will protect the work.
